The Quebec Workplace Apprenticeship Program (PAMT) is a program designed to help Quebec companies increase the skills of their employees. Through formal, planned on-the-job training, the PAMT program allows companies to have their most experienced workers pass their skills, knowledge and know-how onto apprentices (co-workers who have yet to acquire or have only a limited skillset).

This program is designed for voluntary-qualification trades; trades that are not subject to specific government regulations. That means trades that one would generally not attend a specific school to obtain the necessary skills and knowledge. This represents an opportunity for companies to use their existing senior employees to train and mentor less skilled employees, or ones who have yet to learn the skills they will require to succeed.

Through Emploi Quebec, an entity in any industry can participate in this program with the benefit of a tax credit of up to 32% of their employees’ salary while in training.
